What's In My Clinical Bag?

Hi Nursing Friends-- I've seen so many people blog or post videos on YouTube about this so I thought I'd give it a go! I am only going to include things you really need. A lot of people have endorsements to sell products, so just keep that in mind when you are referring to other posts. I am a senior nursing student- so I've been through it all, I know exactly what you need! A sturdy bag. It doesn't have to be nice or have a lot of pockets. I use a free tote bag that I got from a resort in Mexico. It fits everything I need! A backpack will do you just fine.  Binders. Have a binder for each clinical in your bag, fill it with everything your class requires. BRING EXTRA PAPER! At least two black pens and one highlighter- because you'll need it. Chapstick- hospitals dry your lips out.  A clip board. I bought a White Coat Clipboard and I really like it because you can fold it and it fits into your pocket- worth the splurge.  Report sheets- print yourself many a...

Dear Freshman, There's Something You Should Know

So, you're going to college? Here's some things I wish someone told me:  1- Even if you say you won’t change your major, you still might 2- You don’t have to go out every weekend, or at all 3- High school did not matter one bit 4- Get a good nights sleep, exercise, and fuel your body with good foods- the freshman 15 is a myth!  5-Start applying for jobs early, you never know 6- Take every opportunity you get to do cool things 7-Adults don’t know everything, in fact we are all just faking it until we make it  8-Study hard because the future depends on you 9- Go to the library- you’ll never know studying until you lock yourself in a cubicle  10- When someone says: “Are you sure that’s what you want to do?” look them right in the eye and say “Yes, it’s all I think about” (and if you don’t answer that way, change your major) 11- People will doubt you, heck you'll even doubt yourself, and that doesn't mean you suck Thanks for readin...
