LENA Menstrual Cup: Update & Tips

Hi friends- Oh boy, it's been awhile. I am officially on Christmas break and I have a month off school and some free time and I don't know what to do with myself, so here I am blogging. Several months ago I wrote a blog/review about the LENA menstrual cup. I just wanted to write a brief update and some new tips and tricks I have discovered after using it for almost a year. I hope you enjoy and find this blog helpful  😘 (read my LENA menstrual cup review) Cutting off the stem I had mentioned in my first post that I regretted cutting of the stem on my cup because after using it for awhile it was difficult to remove. Well, I recently got a new LENA cup and I kept the stem on. I found the stem to be very irritating to my lady bits. My suggestion is- try the cup with the stem and see how you feel. If it doesn't bother you and it isn't hanging out of you, keep it! (try it for 12 hours and not 12 mins. lol)  How long I leave the cup in Gross alert!! The

Love Hate Relationship: Spray Tans

I love being tan. I feel more attractive and it blends my imperfections. Unfortunately, I've used up all my  Nature's Gate Glow Lotion, read the review here . This year I tried something new- spray tanning. In March, before going to Mexico, I got my first air brushed spray tan. It was at a plain joe tanning salon, nothing special. They gave me one-size-fits-all disposable underwear, which were hilarious and also hard to keep even on my bum. I wore pasties because apparently I am scared of people seeing my nipples. And I didn't want my nipples to be tan or orange. But, then I had a flower tanned onto my boob ha ha  🌼 . The place I went to let me choose how dark or light I wanted my tan to be. I chose it to just give me a natural looking glow. I thought the color turned out good but I did notice a subtle orange tint to it. I learned a few things from getting that first tan: 1) you can't shower  🛀 for 24 hours, so take a nice long shower a few hours before, 2) exfoliate

Bed Head Dumb Blonde Shampoo Review

Hey friends, I am starting up my regular blogging now that I've got 99% of my summer classes done! WHOO! Anyways, this week I am going to be doing a review on Bed Head Dumb Blonde purple toning shampoo . I have been using this product for a couple of months and I have to tell you it is FANTASTIC! I love the blonde/grey/silver/platinum look these days and this shampoo will definitely help you take the brassy undertones out of your blonde hair. It's perfect for the person, like me, who has balayage hair. I haven't touched my roots in months and I feel like this shampoo helps me maintain my bright vibrant blonde color!  For starters- I found this shampoo on The Beauty Place  for $14.29 bucks AND FREE SHIPPING! This is the best price out of all the sites I looked. Shout out to The Beauty Place, I love you. You get 13.5 oz, which actually lasts for a long time. I don't use the shampoo every time I shower, I only use it about once a week. *update: amazon now has this sha

10 Valuable Things I've Learned in Nursing School

THE MOST IMPORTANT OF THEM ALL- Never lose your manners. It doesn't matter how busy you are, you always need to remember to have common courtesy towards your patients. Look them in the eye when talking, ask them non-medical small talk questions, and keep them in the loop if you have to quickly run off. Make your patients feel more comfortable and at least pretend to care about what's going on. Just be nice, people! You don't have to know everything as a student. You are learning and you are at the hospitals to learn. The licensed professionals are the people that need to know everything. For the mean time, the pressure is off but soak in every experience you can get. And this is not an excuse to not do your assignments-- you should know some stuff (obviously).  It's okay to tell your patients you don't know something, but don't leave them hanging. You're more than likely not a medical genius so it's okay! Just make sure you either look it up or fin

Nursing School 101: OB/Maternity Newborn Rotation

Hi Friends!! It's been awhile since I last posted and I'm just dropping by to give you a little update on the latest in my nursing school. This summer I enrolled in Maternity and Newborn and Pediatrics rotations. I am finishing up the Maternity and Newborn (OB) rotation this upcoming week! Wish me luck on finals ðŸ¤“ So, some of you nursing students or people looking into nursing school may be wondering what all you will be doing in your OB rotation. I am here to give you insight on what you will more than likely be doing in clinical, what the tests are like in 300 level classes compared to 200, and what summer nursing classes are really like. First, I would just like to explain why I am taking summer courses. In 2014 I switched my major from dietetics to nursing. This set me back an entire year for graduation. UNLESS I took summer courses. So here I am completing my first summer session. I will be done in August. Each of my courses is four weeks. THIS IS EXTREMELY COMPRESSE

Life Update

Hi friends- If you haven't noticed, I haven't been updating my blog recently. These past few weeks have been busy busy busy! I had finals week for my first year of nursing school. That itself consumed most of my time for about two weeks. Thank god they're over and I did fantastic. I have many products I am looking forward to reviewing over the next couple of months. I don't know when I will be able to post, but I will try my best to do it often! This summer I am taking more nursing courses at my college. Five days a week, 8 hour days. I will be a busy bee. I am moving into a new apartment and starting classes in the next couple of days. I would like to continue to post as often as time allows. Thank you for following my blog, it means so much to me that you've taken the time to read my posts! Please continue to stop by! If you'd like to follow me regularly, I post most often on Instagram. Sonimart Brush Head Replacements for the Clarisonic

Hey guys! For this blog, I am going to be reviewing the Sonimart brush head replacements. I bought my Clarisonic back in December and have used it everyday since! & I absolutely love it. ( Click here to read my Clarisonic review ). BUT, it costs so much to replace the brush heads.... I couldn't afford to spend up to $120 a year on brush replacement heads. After using my Clarisonic for three months, it definitely needed a new brush head. The original head I had was turning a gross yellow color and I could tell it had a lot of build up. So, I headed over an Amazon and bought myself a twin pack of Sonimart's Deep Pore Cleansing brush heads. They cost me $11.95 total. WHAT A BARGIN. They look identical to Clarisonic's brush heads. I literally cannot find any differences that stand out to me. I've been using this brush head for over a month and do not notice any significant differences in my skin. I have been breaking out slightly more, but I feel like this is hor

Everything You Need To Know Before You Go: Mexico Edition

Hey guys! It’s been two weeks since I last posted. I got back from my wonderful Mexico vacation last weekend. I didn’t know what to blog about this past week because I was out of the country and didn’t try any new products. So, I decided to write about my trip in Mexico. This blog will include a review on the resort we stayed at, XCaret Eco Park, Cabo Mayan Ruin, and adventure day at an old Mayan village (with AllTourNative Ecoarchaeological Expedition).

Wet n Wild Matte Lipstick Review

Hello friends ðŸ˜˜ This week I will be reviewing Wet n Wild matte lipstick! I've recently been really into lipsticks and trying to find some cheap but great lip products. I originally heard about Wet n Wild lipsticks from itsjudytime on YouTube and decided to try them out!

Dry Shampoo Reviews: Batiste, Not Your Mothers, Herbal Essences, and Dove

Hey guys! I haven't posted in the last few weeks because I've been quite busy after getting back from Mexico! I debated on a few new products to review for this week and decided to do some dry shampoo reviews. This week I will be reviewing Batiste, Not Your Mothers, Herbal Essences, and Dove dry shampoo.  I personally use dry shampoo several times a week to save me time in the morning for the days that I don't shower. If you're a nurse or a nursing student (or anyone), most likely you'll have some crazy hours and probably won't want to wake up at 5 AM to shower and get ready for the day. Dry shampoo can honestly be a life saver. If you haven't tried it yet, you definitely should! Some people don't know how to use it, so I am debating on doing a YouTube tutorial on how to really get the max results out of your dry shampoo. Let me know if that's something that'd you guys would be interesting in the comments below!

Ardell Lash Extensions Review & Horror Story

Hey guys! This week I will be reviewing Ardell cluster lash extensions. I was going to originally make a YouTube tutorial video on applying them and my experience, but my experience was rather short lived and well, not that great. So, I hope you find this blog helpful! Enjoy ðŸ˜Š

Battle of the Drugstore BB Cream's: Physician's Formula Organic Wear VS. Revlon Photoready

Hey guys! This week I will be reviewing two more BB creams! (Well, one BB cream and one tinted moisturizer). The Physician’s Formula Organic Wear and Revlon’s Photoready. If you read last weeks’ post, you will know I am on the hunt for a great drugstore BB cream. Head over to my L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BBCream review to see everything I had to say about that!

L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Review

Hey Guys! This week I will be reviewing L’Oreal BB Cream. I have been looking for a BB cream to simplify my make up routine and save some money. For those of you who read my BareMinerals foundation review , you know that I really enjoy using their make up. I plan on using a BB cream on the days I don’t have much to do and I need to get ready quickly in the morning. I will still use BareMinerals when I want a full coverage look for events and such. While searching the internet for BB creams that would be worth buying, I noticed that L’Oreal’s Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream was practically on every list. So, for starters I decided to try it out! I noticed at just about every store I looked it was sold out. Luckily, I finally found it at my local Walmart!

Nursing School 101: Everything You Need to Know Before You Go

Hey guys! This week I won’t be doing a product review. I am going to write about my experience with nursing school. I hope that this blog helps anyone who is going, looking, or dreaming about going through nursing school!   Before I started nursing school I was really curious about it and searched the internet for videos and blogs. I’ve noticed that a lot of nurses and nursing stories online (and in real life) are very negative. I found this to be really depressing and I questi oned if I did the right thing by switching my major. I decided that I was going to have a positive mindset and enjoy the process. I hope that this blog leaves you with a better understanding and a positive mindset before you head off to school!

BareMinerals Original Powder Foundation Review

Hey Guys! This week I will be reviewing BareMinerals Original Foundation! I’ve been using this product for about a year. I love this product. I miss the drug store foundation prices, but this foundation really creates a flawless look! BareMinerals claims to promote clearer, healthier looking skin. It has SPF 15 in it which is always a plus! It’s perfect for that “no-makeup look”! I hope you enjoy my review :)

Lena Menstrual Cup Review & Tips

Hey guys! This week I will be reviewing something that could get a little gross… The Lena Menstrual Cup! As a soon to be nurse, there are very few things that I find disgusting or taboo to talk about. If you are uncomfortable about reading about menstruation and the female anatomy, then stop reading now!

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser & Lotion Review: Best Product for Eczema Prone Skin

Hey Guys! This week I will be talking about CeraVe Cleanser and Lotion. I have been using CeraVe for about 7 years. I was suggested to use it from my dermatologist because I have sensitive eczema prone skin. Through the years I mostly used the CeraVe lotion and used a very harsh “acne” cleanser. But for the last year or so I made the full time switch to solely using CeraVe cleanser and CeraVe moisturizer. I have noticed some great differences in my problem areas. Previously, I used to get terribly painful eczema rashes around my eyes (especially during the winter months). Since I have started using the cleanser & lotion together, I have developed no new eczema patches on my face… YAY! I use the CeraVe with my Clarisonic Mia. You can read more about that here . My only request from CeraVe is that they would come out with a product that had some “scrubbing” properties. ANYWAYS—you can read the rest of my review below!

DIY: Snickerdoodle Scrub

Hey guys! This week I will be doing a DIY scrub. I use this scrub as a pre-shave on my legs and to exfoliate the whole body. It is moisturizing, not abrasive, and makes your skin feel amazing! I have eczema and this scrub doesn't irritate it. This scrub smells exactly like snickerdoodle cookies. If you really wanted to you could eat it too ;) I hope you enjoy!

Clarisonic Mia 1 Review: Is it really worth the money?

Hey Guys! This week I will be reviewing the Clarisonic Mia 1. I have been wanting to try out this facial cleansing brush for quite some time. I finally caved and bought it. For those of you who don’t know, Clarisonic facial brushes claim to clean your face 6x better than regular washing with just your hands. The brush is supposed to give you softer clearer skin, and help you skin absorb products better (lotions/vitamin creams). It transmits sonic frequency of 300+ movements per second. Before buying my Mia 1, I went to Ulta to check out the different Clarisonic brushes. Many of you may believe that Clarisonic brushes spin but they actually don’t. The brushes “vibrate” extremely fast. I found that interesting. Before investing in this brush I did a lot of research of which one to get. Hopefully this blog helps you clear up any questions you have about Clarisonic devices! Happy reading :)
